My name is Colin Crook and I am the owner of Hustlerz, Inc. Productions and Recordings, a new label that specialises in the Urban music sector from Breakbeat, R&B, Hip-Hop, Dance and Neo-Soul to name a few.

As an Artist, I am known as Born 2 B and had previous success back in the nineties as Rapper on “The Band Played The Boogie” by NW1 featuring Born 2 B (Ninja Tune Records). NW1 went on to become Blue Note/EMI band Us3. I went on to record for labels such as Chrysalis Music, Century Vista Records (USA), Sony Germany, Instinct Records (USA) and numerous others. I also produced the “Rap Archives Legends” compilation album series between 1995 and 1998.

I have now started my own label after building a roster of Artists and Producers under my Production stable. I have distribution via Active Media Distribution / EUK for a music history compilation series that I have produced, the first two album releases being based on the roots of Rock ‘n’ Roll, entitled “Elvis – The Songs That Inspired The King” Volumes 1 & 2, which I conducted radio interviews on various BBC regional shows throughout January 2007.

I also have Digital Distribution via mBop Global and Tunetribe.com and released our first single from the label on 22nd October 2007 entitled “The Return Of The Boogie” by DJ Dax Vs Born 2 B, a UK Breakbeat reworking of my Ninja Tune single which was previously on the A-playlist of Kiss FM (who I also did a PA Tour with) and was promoted by Pete Tong and MTV’s “Party Zone”. We have also just completed a music video for the single and provide our own Music and Video Production. The next releases in 2008 include an Electro-Dance reworking of the eighties top ten hit “Who’s In The House” by The Beatmasters featuring Merlin. We are in the final stages of completing a new Merlin album (who was most recently a member of 2004’s Garage group Blackout, who had a top ten hit with “Hey, Mr DJ” on Independiente).

Also in January is a new Born 2 B double-A single, entitled “2 Live Another Day” (a UK-Rap adaptation of “Grey Day” by Madness, in association with EMI Music) and “U Don’t Know” (Straight up UK Political Hip-Hop). I am also on the last stages of completing the new Born 2 B album.

I have a team of six Producers who work exclusively for my company and a roster of five artists who we are completing new product for.
